Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on November 1st, 1901, at the University of Richmond. From the fraternity’s beginning, the founders declared that “this fraternity will be different.” Since then, SigEp has nationally embraced the Balanced Man Program. This program replaces our pledging process, focuses on continuous development, and includes characteristics such as single-tier membership and equal rights and responsibilities.
Since we were brought back to grounds on 2019, it has been our goal to promote a positive Greek environment for our brothers. Through continuous development, interdepartmental programming, and local service, we have provided our brothers with the necessary social, academic, and professional skills to grow as people, and focus on our principles of sound mind and sound body. We look forward to continuing to grow as a brotherhood, and to fostering an even closer relationship with the UVA and Charlottesville community in the years to come.
